I AM blonde....

Although I am not naturally blonde, I bleach my hair to make it so. At this point I am pretty sure the dye has seeped into my brain and made me a dumb blonde. This was proven three times in a row yesterday....

First, I was at Party City buying some items for a Baby Shower I am hosting next month. After gathering all of my purchases I went to the register to pay and the woman in front of me had tons of stuff to buy. I watched as the cashier scanned everything and being the friendly Minnesotan I am I started chatting with the lady buying all the stuff. She had a bunch of black and hot pink items for a bachelorette party including serving platters, necklaces, napkins, etc. I jokingly said "Yea, I just did one of those parties" (meaning a bachelorette) "And now I am doing one of these" and I showed her the baby shower items I had. She smiled and then was paying for her items when I realized, to my horror, that she was not buying bachelorette party items, it was for a SWEET 16!! The poor lady in line thought I was saying I had just thrown a Sweet 16 and now its a Baby Shower! I was too embarrassed to fess up, plus I thought it was funny, so I left without saying anything else. (Plus, this might make for a very important mother-daughter talk...) lol...

Then, on my way home, I was at a red light and wanted to attach my new air freshener. It is one that clips to the vent so when air flows through it the scent fills your car. I was having a heck of a time getting it to stay on the vent and I pushed really hard and my hand slipped and next thing I know my hazard lights are flashing. By this time, the light had turned green so I had to proceed through it, then I pulled over to try and turn off my dumb lights! I knew it had to be somewhere easy because I had just turned them on! After several minutes of unsuccessfully looking for the switch I had to haul out the car manual to look it up. When I finally found the right page, I was embarrassed to see I had been staring at the button the whole time. I turned it off and drove away.

As soon as I got home, I wanted to finish the invitations for the baby shower. I sat down to do my final touches when I realized that on every single envelope (32 of them, to be exact) I had place my return address label on the WRONG SIDE! I had put them on the upper right hand corner where the stamp should be! I was really upset with myself because HELLO! This is basic! Luckily I was able to peel off each label and put a new one on the proper side without too much damage. Thank God the stamps weren't put on yet, I would have had to buy more!

So, I think my point has been proven. I am blonde no matter what my hair roots say!

And we thought we were going to see fireworks....

So last night I went with my friend and her family to see the fireworks in Mounds View. Seems simple enough, right? Well it didn't turn out that way. As we were watching the fireworks we could hear two men yelling obscenities at each other and acting like they were going to fight. My friends mom stood up because she wanted to go talk to them and at the same time I walked around the idiots and found a police officer and let him know these men were acting like this and I was afraid they were going to fight. The other annoying thing was that they were cussing in front of all these little kids who were trying to enjoy themselves and watch the fireworks with their families. At the end of the fireworks, my friends mom went up to one of the boys and told them to be the bigger man and walk away and he did.

Just when you think all the craziness is over for the night, it isn't. We went back to the car and were trying to leave the parking lot when this kid in his red truck tried to cut us off when it was our turn to go. Then he proceeded to flip us off. We rolled down the window and my friends mom said "We are going every other one" meaning one car at a time and the kid proceeded to yell obscenities at us. I rolled down my window and asked him to flick us off again so I could take a picture and send it to his mother. And he did!

Then this kid followed us around a neighborhood and passed us on the right hand side, but we were able to get rid of him. And just for the record, I AM going to try to figure out who this kid is and send the pic to his mother, just as I promised....

On another note, my friend had these AWESOME snacks that I tried and am now in love with! They are little S'more snacks and I think I have a new love....

And lastly, this is one of the first negatives of surgery and its called hair loss. I have lost a lot of hair in the last few weeks, and I knew it was bound to happen but I hope it stops soon! I brushed out my hair last night and this was the result. I am hoping that this is the worst of it. But I am still glad I did it! This is a small price to pay!

And there was a pink rock!

So this last week was a good one. Last week on August 13th it was my Grandma Sally's 89th birthday so we took her to dinner and had a really nice time. She also showed off her new bench that my aunt and her family gave her to put out at my Grandpa's grave. It has deer in the seat back and its especially meaningful to us. Its a gorgeous bench and I cant wait to use it!

Then later that same night my Grandma and our family friend Glenda came over on her HARLEY! Only my grandma would fearlessly take a ride on a hog for her 89th! Go Grandma, its your birthday!

Then for the weekend, I went up to Brainerd with my dad and brother and we had a really nice time! Friday we spent a good portion of the day out on the lake, it was awesome! Such nice weather to be outside!

My view from the boat; not too shabby!

In the evening we went to a camp out and they had this HUGE dog there. Its hard to tell how big he really is but we did compare him to the dog on "The Sandlot" a few times...

The also had a nice campfire that I was able to enjoy....

One of the other things I enjoyed about Brainerd was this big rock they have that everyone writes on. It must have layers and layers of peoples names and messages, and I just think its awesome. This time it was even painted pink for some lady named Barb's birthday! It cracked me up!

And then we played mini-golf at the COOLEST mini-golf place ever! Its all pirate themed and I just love it! Can you guess who lost?

And in case you didn't hear, Brett Favre will now be wearing purple and gold. Not sure how I feel about this since I really don't care that much about the NFL but we will see how it goes....

Too obvious?

So I have been cleaning out my clothes lately and came across a bunch of shirts that made me laugh- it seems I have a propensity to collect shirts in this nature. I decided it was worth posting because its funny!
The first is "I love Boys in Uniform". True, true....

"I love hockey players" all I have to say about that is DUH! :)

"I love the M" Meaning the University of Minnesota (this is secondary to the one above- I do love Gopher Men's Hockey players, but I couldn't find a shirt that says that. Plus, I am too old for that now. It would have to say "I love former Gopher Men's Hockey Players" hahaha)

"I love dirty rocker boys" this is mostly true. I think most girls like bad boys somewhat, but I can't say its my ultimate fav. Come on, you know I love boy bands!

"Looking for a good ol boy" this is very true! 'nuff said!

Beyond my t-shirt advertisement for a husband, I also have some other random shirts. This is "Team Jolie" referring to the Angelina Jolie vs. Jennifer Aniston fight over Brad Pitt. Although in real life I am actually "Team Aniston" I can't pass up the chance to get my name on a shirt! I am fairly certain this was a gift from Tanya and I love it!

"Good girls go to heaven. Bad girls go to HOLLYWOOD" Ironically, I am going to Hollywood two weeks from today.....

Lastly, this is a shirt I had made for me after I was a bridesmaid in my millionth wedding. Please don't get me wrong, I LOVE being in weddings- I love the whole thing! But, I wish one of these days it would be MY wedding I was in....

Weekly re-cap

So last Sunday my sisters came over and we did MAKEOVERS! I love doing makeup and my sisters both like it too so I did their makeup. They are both GORGEOUS anyway, so it was easy to do their makeup and they looked A.MAZ.ING!!!
Katie, Kristin

And here they are with Trevor

One funny thing, my sister Katie was flossing and got her floss stuck and I just thought it was hilarious so I snapped her pic :)

Then, on Tuesday night, it was National Night Out (AKA Night to Unite) and we went to my Grandma's and grilled food and met the neighbors and Trevor played guitar.

And lastly, I was driving earlier this week and saw the LAMEST bumper sticker ever! Its hard to read but it says:
WARNING!
Under the Influence of
JULIE ANDREWS

Huh?
